Philip Ross Combines Fungus and fun in new Museum Exhibit

sandiegoexhibitionLast week the San Diego New Children’s Museum opened its exhibition Feast featuring a commissioned work by USF professor Philip Ross.  Assisted by USF alumna Caitlin Moorleghen, Ross created Mol_d, an interactive exhibition of over 1,400 bricks, grown and fabricated from reiki mushrooms and stained with food dyes. This creative use of food to make art takes the idea of playing with food to a whole new level.

Museum visitors can fashion walls, bridges and other structures from these fungus-bricks created by USF artist Phil Gross.
