In an era of increased globalization, digitization and collaboration, museums have evolved into important and vital sites for community engagement and public dialogue. The University of San Francisco offers a unique Master’s Degree in Museum Studies that prepares students for positions of leadership in artistic, cultural and heritage organizations operating within a constantly changing social dynamic.

Museum Studies students enjoy the rich experiences available in San Francisco, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and beautiful cities. Within walking distance to the museum complexes of Golden Gate Park – including the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences – USF also lies near the museums and cultural institutions in downtown San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto and San Jose. As a major financial, cultural and technological center of the West Coast of the U.S., the San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most culturally and economically vibrant regions of the world.
